The Centre for Education Leadership and School Improvement (CELSI)

Education Leadership School Improvement
CELSI is part of the Department of Professional Development. We are involved in a wide range of work, regionally, nationally and internationally, in partnership with schools, Local Authorities and other agencies.

We offer a variety of consultancy which includes many professional and leadership opportunities for individuals and groups. This includes schools and other education settings and supports multi-agency working. We design bespoke projects with partners and clients in the public and voluntary sectors, supporting:

  •   leadership development
  •   practitioner research
  •   planning and organisational development
  •   research and evaluation

We offer postgraduate masters pathways in School Development and Leadership and Management for Learning. Accreditation can be offered as an option within consultancy projects.

Most of our programmes and courses are delivered locally in schools and professional development centres, making full use of online facilities and resources. Our staff offer an extensive range of professional and academic experience and expertise.

We support the professional and academic community of the University through CANTARNET (Canterbury Action Research Network) and its journal 'The Enquirer'. We hold regular study days for masters students and have a thriving Erasmus programme.
