Jane Westergaard
Profile
Jane Westergaard is a Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is Programme Director for the Foundation degree in Supporting Young People and has a particular interest in working with groups of young people. Jane's acclaimed book, 'Effective Group Work with Young People' was published in 2009, followed by 'Effective Counselling with Young People', written with colleague Dr Hazel Reid and published in 2011.
Jane is also a BACP accredited counsellor, working with young people in London. Jane's counselling approach is integrative, drawing from a range of perspectives. As a requirement of counselling practice, Jane has received one-to-one, group and peer supervision and in addition to co-editing a publication which focuses on supervision, she has developed an accredited Certificate Course in Supervision offered by the University.
Jane has spoken at a number of national and international conferences on a range of themes which reflect her interest in guidance and counselling.
