Alison Fielding
Profile
Alison Fielding is a Senior Lecturer within CCPD who has experience of teaching on a wide range of programmes including the MA in Career Guidance, the BA (Hons) in Supporting Young People, and the Foundation degree in Supporting Young People. She draws on her background in Psychology, and her eight years of professional experience as a Careers Adviser to inform her work. She is also involved in various consultancy activities with a range of organisations.
Alison has been teaching in HE since 1988. She teaches on a range of subjects with the programmes, including Career Guidance Practice, Understanding Adolescent Development, Mentoring Young People, Equality and Diversity, an Independent Study module, as well as developing a blended learning Career Coaching module for the MA. She also teaches Research Methods on both the BA (Hons) and the MA in Career Guidance.
Alison’s research interests include young people’s experiences of inclusions and exclusion, the impact of career guidance on career trajectories, and how women invent and reinvent career identities. She takes a narrative and auto/biographical approach to research and is an active member of the Research Theme Group.
