Introduction
The marketing communications sector is a dynamic and growing part of the UK economy, offering interesting and rewarding career opportunities for graduates. The Advertising Management pathway of the Business Framework is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to work effectively in this important business sector. Students focus on advertising theory and practice, but will also have the opportunity to develop an understanding of other elements of the marketing mix in order to appreciate the importance of developing integrated marketing communications campaigns. The course is not aimed at training advertising creatives, but focuses rather on the practical management of advertising campaigns from both the client and agency perspectives.
The main aim of the Business Studies programme is to provide a sound and relevant educational foundation for a range of professional careers in industry, commerce, the service sector and self employment. The programme develops an understanding of both the national and international dimensions of business.
The Marketing programme has been designed to produce graduates with an advanced understanding of the important role of marketing in modern firms. It will also equip graduates with the specialist knowledge to make an appropriate contribution in the workplace.
