Introduction

The MSc in Tourism Marketing is for graduates with a first degree in a Tourism/Hospitality degree or relevant industry experience.  

It will equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and applied management experience to become successful a Tourism Manager with valuable marketing expertise. Particular attention will be paid to developing a critical understanding of the business world as well as the development of your professional and personal skills.  

You’ll take modules in Customers and Markets, Applied Tourism Management Contexts, Tourism Marketing and Global Marketing as well as other business and research based modules, culminating in a management research project.  

Given the importance of marketing within the management context of Tourism, the programme provides an ideal base from which to enhance your career prospects in the tourism industry. 

Programme details

This is a full-time programme starting in October and lasting for 12 – 15 months.  

It comprises seven taught modules and a major management project, for which you are allocated a personal supervisor. Each module carries 20 credits while the management project carries 40 level credits:

  • Dissertation 

Methods of Teaching and Learning

Our teaching and learning methods are varied and designed to actively involve students as much as possible. They include lectures, seminars, practical workshops, group discussions, directed reading, student presentations and small group and individual tutorials.

Assessments will take a number of forms including presentations, essays, examinations, reports and case-study analysis.

Student Support

In addition to the excellent student support services provided by the University, there is an induction programme which is designed to ensure you fully understand what is expected of you in your studies and assessment.

Entry requirements

You should have a good honours degree in a Tourism/Hospitality related discipline or relevant industry experience.

International Students
Applications from international students are welcomed. In addition to the entry requirements above, if your first language is not English you will need to demonstrate proficiency to IELTS 6.5. We have developed a Pre-Masters Course for students who need to improve both their English and their study skills before they begin post-graduate study at a British University.
