Certificate in Organisation and People Management

About the Course
Level

Certificate

Duration

26 weeks

Introduction

This short course aims to develop a basis of business and people management theoretical knowledge and learning skills at a level that is suitable to support entry to the MA in HRM Business Partnership and the CIPD Professional Development Scheme.

It is aimed particularly at those who have completed the CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice or the Certificate in Training Practice and, having achieved a good result, wish to progress in their professional, academic and personal development.

Entry Requirements

Applicants would normally expected to have:

  • Current employment within a management or human resource management position
  • At least one year’s experience within an appropriate position of management or human resource management
  • A CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice or Training Practice

Course Details

For those who hold a CIPD Certificate the course consists of three modules:

  • Business organisations
  • Principles of management, leadership and change
  • Research methods

Students will be accredited with a fourth module through possession of the CIPD Certificate. If someone has gained a senior position in human resource management through experience, rather than qualifications, and they possess neither the CIPD certificate nor an undergraduate level degree, then they will be required to complete a fourth module; People Management and Development.

After initial induction meetings most of the learning will be carried out through on-line group seminars and one to one tuition. Learning materials will be provided.

The course will commence in January of each year and should be completed within 26 weeks.
