Forensic Computing
Introduction
With the rapid advancements in mobile computing technologies and the ubiquitous Internet access, the number of criminal investigations involving digital evidence is fast growing. As a result new investigatory techniques are constantly developed and deployed supported by appropriate tools. There is an increasing demand in the industry for those who are suitably trained and qualified to undertake these investigations. MSc Forensic Computing brings together every important aspect of digital forensic examination to support criminal investigation involving digital evidence. The subject areas covered in this programme achieve a balance between the practice and their underpinning theory. As such it is ideally suited for those who are already engaged, or are aiming to develop a career, in law enforcement or associated areas both in the UK and elsewhere.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will normally possess a good honours degree or equivalent in Forensic Computing or similar. Those who are graduates in other disciplines but with appropriate industry/commercial experience may be accepted. Those who are not graduates but can demonstrate significant level of industry/commercial experience in an appropriate area are required to submit a portfolio according to APL requirements of the Quality and Standards Office. Applicants whose native language is not English must satisfy the University's requirements for English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5, or higher, or TOEFL 570/230, or higher).
