Programme Details

The aims of the programme are to enable you to prepare for a career in management and business. It involves the advanced study of a wide range of different types of organisations; the development of a range of business knowledge and skills and the development of your ability to apply your knowledge and understanding of business and management to a range of complex issues.

You will study seven modules covering key business themes:

  • Strategy
  • Managerial Finance

  • Research Methods

Once you have completed the taught modules, you will undertake a research project of around 11,000 words. The research project is an opportunity for you to consolidate your learning and to study a business issue of your choice in depth. You will have a supervisor to guide and support you throughout.

Methods of Teaching and Learning

Our teaching and learning methods are varied and designed to actively involve students as much as possible. They include lectures, seminars, practical workshops, group discussions, directed reading, student presentations and small group and individual tutorials.

Student Support

All students have a personal tutor who will arrange regular meetings and offer academic support. In the first few weeks of the programme, there is a short taught module which introduces students to studying at masters level in a British University. This includes teaching and learning styles and writing assignments. All students have the opportunity to practice assignment writing and to receive detailed feedback.

In addition, the University provides a wide range of student support facilities.

Entry Requirements

Prospective programme members should have at least one of the following:

  • a good honours degree in any subject;
  • a Certificate in Management Studies at Masters level;
  • work experience of over five years, together with a portfolio of prior experiential learning. The work experience will be assessed in line with University College regulations regarding APL.

International Students

Applications from international students are welcomed.

In addition to the entry requirements above, if your first language is not English you will need to demonstrate proficiency to IELTS 6.5. We have developed a Pre-Masters Course for students who need to improve both their English and their study skills before they begin post-graduate study at a British University.
