Postgraduate Certificate in TESOL

Duration:
12-15 months full-time or up to five years part-time
Introduction
The Language Studies Department runs Stage 1 of the MA in TESOL programme as a separate Certificate programme for students who only wish to study this stage of the programme or who wish to take a break between studying Stage 1 and Stage 2. They may also continue onto Stage 2 by distance mode on completion of this Certificate. The Certificate comprises the first four modules of the MA programme:
- Language Systems
- Theories and Practice of Teaching
- ELT Methodology
- Practical Teaching
The Postgraduate Certificate in TESOL is run between October and December as Stage 1 of the regular Diploma in TESOL programme
Assessment
Assessment is by written assignments and portfolio work.
Entry Requirements
The normal entry requirement for the TESOL programme is one year's relevant experience plus a good, relevant degree.
