Equivalency Tests
What are Equivalency Tests?
The equivalency tests are GCSE grade C equivalent entry
tests which have been designed by the University to test the knowledge of
applicants who do not meet the GCSE (or equivalent)
entry requirement(s) for a course.
The tests are offered in English
Language, Mathematics,
and General Science.
Whilst a pass in an equivalency test demonstrates that you meet a GCSE
equivalent standard in a particular subject, for the purpose of admission
onto the course, the test does not provide you
with a nationally recognized qualification and is unlikely to be accepted by
other institutions.
Who is Eligible to Take the Tests?
The equivalency tests are not accepted for entry onto all courses at the
University, so it is important that you only make a booking if you have
received an offer of a place on a course which is
conditional
on you passing the
University's equivalency test in a particular
subject(s).
Notes
- The equivalency tests are offered to eligible candidates at the discretion of Student Recruitment.
- Test dates are offered from November to August.
- Test results are usually sent out one
to two weeks after the test.
