CRB Sessions

Please read all the below information carefully.

Dates

If you deferred your entry from the previous year, or did not complete the proof of ID process at interview, then you must attend a CRB session to complete the CRB process. Dates and times can be found below. Please check regularly for future dates.

All candidates that work with the young and vulnerable people as part of their course must obtain clearance through the Criminal Records Bureau before they start their course.  The University reserves the right to refuse entry to students if the Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the CRB indicates convictions, cautions, or bind over/s not brought to the University's attention on the CRB Self Declaration form handed in at the point of your interview. If you feel that there is additional information that you have not already disclosed, then you must send this in writing to the Student Recruitment office. You will be required to bring your original CRB certificate to registration as proof of completion.

Residency Outside UK
If you are a non UK resident or have been temporarily resident outside of the UK you will be required to provide a CRB equivalent document to show at registration.

 

Bookings

Bookings will only be accepted up until the Friday before the CRB session.

The University operates a booking system for the CRB drop-in sessions. The sessions start at 1.30 pm and time slots are available every ten minutes until 5.50 pm.

Session Availability

Once you have selected your preferred location, date and time you will need to email us with this information, along with your name and course title.

A booking confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm the success of the booking. From time-to-time it might not be possible for us to offer you your preferred booking, in this case we will offer you an alternative.
 

CRB Payment

Payment of £49 is currently required for the below courses and should be paid at the CRB session. Cheques and Postal Orders only are accepted and should be made payable to "CCCU."

Courses:
Dance Education, Early Childhood Studies, Education Studies, Early Years Foundation degree, Single (Hons) Physical Education and Sports Science, BA (Hons) Primary Education, PGCE, BA Part-time Progression Route and  Social Work.

 

Proof of ID Documents

Please remember to bring with you valid ID documents to prove your identity. The diagram below will help you to determine which documents you need to bring with you.

All documentation must be original (photocopies are not accepted). A minimum of three valid documents are required (depending on what you are able to provide) and must prove who you are, your current address, plus one other document.

Please note that:

  • All documents must be in your current name
  • A minimum of one document must show your current address
  • At least one document must show your date of birth

PLEASE NOTE:

  • * documentation should be less than three months old
  • ** issued within the past 12 months

NON-UK Residents
If you are a non-UK resident then we can only accept a valid passport or EU ID card, and documents with your name and current address e.g. bank statement, phone bill etc.
