About our Campuses

Canterbury Campus

Canterbury Christ Church has a compact, attractive campus in Canterbury that is a 5-minute walk from the city centre and the magnificent Cathedral.

Canterbury is one of the best known cities in Britain and is visited by over two and a half million visitors a year. The Cathedral is famous throughout the world and the city centre is still surrounded in many places by medieval walls, it is full of historic buildings and associations with the past.

The University was founded by the Church of England in 1962 and Canterbury Christ Church welcomes students from all faiths and none.

The University at Canterbury was built on what was the old orchard ground of Saint Augustine's Abbey. The University has been expanding since its original foundation but the main campus is still largely surrounded by the medieval Abbey wall, and the buildings of St Augustine's are overlooked from the University.

Broadstairs, Folkestone, Medway and  Salomons Campuses

At the Broadstairs Campus, Canterbury Christ Church has established a purpose-built campus offering a wide range of fulltime and part-time programmes.

The University Centre Folkestone (UCF) is a new development in Folkestone’s ‘Creative Quarter’. A number of programmes, in a range of creative subjects, are offered at this new location. The site has been purchased by the Creative Foundation who have restored the Victorian buildings to their former glory and provide a specialist higher education facility as part of the regeneration of the town through arts. The building is just the beginning of Folkestone’s fledgling campus with plans to increase and expand rapidly.

The purpose-built Medway Campus at Chatham Maritime admitted its first students in September 2004.This modern well-equipped facility provides an excellent environment in which to study. As well as providing access to quality higher education the Medway Campus aims to play a major role in the economic development of the area.

At the Salomons Campus in Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, the University offers a range of courses for the West Kent area. This includes the PhD in Clinical Psychology and programmes run by the Department of Career and Personal Development listed in this prospectus.
