The Medway Campus
How to get here
Our Medway Campus at Chatham is located in a new, custom-designed building on the Chatham Maritime site, close to the historic Chatham Dockyard.
Opened in October 2004 by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams. The Rowan Williams Court building is equipped with an excellent mix of general teaching space, specialist facilities and staff accommodation. It is fully accessible to people with disabilities. There are two lecture theatres (160 and 75 seats) which can be linked by video.
The first floor of Rowan Williams Court is equipped with state of the art teaching facilities for health professionals. These include a theatre for operating department practice, simulated wards for nursing and midwifery, an intensive care unit and extensive X-ray facilities. Excellent practical facilities for students of Occupational Therapy include two workshops and a daily living suite complete with bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
In July 2009, an additional building was opened - Cathedral Court. This provides more student teaching and open access spaces, along with the Health Research Centre and Dept of Health Wellbeing and Family.
Also in this building is the 'i-zone' - students can obtain advice on a wide range of student matters.
The University is part of the Universities at Medway development. This means we will continue to offer all the things which make Canterbury Christ Church University at Medway a good place to study, but students will also benefit from being part of a much bigger student community. Students at the Medway Campus have full access to all the student services provided by the University.
