Lynn Morris

Background and research interests

Lynn has twenty years’ experience of working with small business and the third sector on consultancy projects as well as delivering a range of European funded programmes to SME’s. Her professional background includes positions in Human Resources, project management and Business Development Manager of a regional enterprise centre.   She has been working in the University sector for fifteen years (at the University of Ulster, University College St Mark and St John and latterly at Canterbury Christ Church University). Current research interests focus on the governance of social enterprise and efficacy in employee engagement. Lynn is a member of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE).

Education

Lynn holds primary and post graduate degrees from the Queen’s University of Belfast in History (BA Hons) and Organisational Behaviour and Management (MSSc), a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Law from the University of Ulster, and held membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) for a number of years. She is currently completing the CIPD professional standards.

  • Knowledge Base Supervisor of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Kent Children’s Fund Network (KCFN) - sustainable business model
  • Lead Academic of a short-term KTP with the same organisation (KCFN) – brand strategy 
  • INTERREG funded ‘Careers Sans Frontier’ Management Development Programme – delivered training in marketing, HR and business skills development
  • ESF funded ‘Growing Micro Business’ Programme – development programme for entrepreneurs in business planning and small business management
  • South East Programme for Innovative Actions (SEPIA) – SEEDA funded small business initiative; delivered workshops on guerrilla marketing techniques and idea generation for SME’s
