Biography
Alan has an MBA from the University of Kent. He came to Canterbury Christchurch University after thirty years with a number of police services. During this time Alan became involved in quality and performance measures in public sector organisations. He was heavily involved in the Charter Mark scheme and the Public Sector Benchmarking scheme. He was an assessor for the European Foundation of Quality Management.
Teaching and Academic Interests
Alan teaches Project management, Operations Management, Service management and Management Science.
His research interests include quality and performance measurement in public and other services, and in particular the use of surrogate measurements.
