Reading Lists 2014-2015
Reading lists are now uploaded and live for the new academic year right now! These are books your tutors heavily recommend for purchase to enable you to succeed in your studies.
Look out for price-saving bundles and academic titles competitively-priced to give you the best deal around.
More information is available here for CCCU academic staff wanting to give us the nod as to recommended titles - just let your bookseller know!
We can check library availability and can price-check for you. Students may have listed their titles on the Second-hand Book Exchange - it's worth a quick look.
Author Event with Abie Longstaff
Great news! We're really excited by an upcoming author event with children's author Abie Longstaff. It will take place 11am on Thursday 18th September in Powell. Abie's talk will consider how we use fairy tales to inspire reading and writing. It's going to be great, don't miss it! A Q&A with book signing will follow.
Writing Comes Alive 2014-15
Now in it's sixth year, this series of public readings celebrates and encourages creativity in writing. Each event is held at the Sidney Cooper Gallery in St Peter's Street 6.30pm - 7.30pm. Enjoy the Gallery's current exhibition with a glass of wine, before the reading begins.
Don't miss a wonderful opportunity to listen and pose questions to our leading contemporary writers. Our next authors include Peter Benson, and a return visit from Lawrence Norfolk.
Look out for our Bookshop pop-up bookstall - we've supported 35 conferences and events in the last academic year. We have signed copies by Emma Dodd and Rebecca Westcott, as well as signed copies by novelists Simon Ings, and Danny Rhodes.
We're open throughout the year whatever your book requirements, from the moment you consider Christ Church as an undergraduate to post-graduate studies - we're here for you.
Over 30,000 books were sold last year supporting academic research and study across the University. In fact, with over half a million general and academic titles available for collection the following day - there's not much we can't do. It's not just the set texts. We stock a wide range of books supporting your chosen subject area, from Christopher Robin to Christopher Hitchens we can source any book currently in print.
Any title not available for next day is usually supplied within 3 to 7 days. And practically all books are automatically discounted by 10% with greater savings available on core textbook bundles and newly-published titles. Just ask for a Price-Check at the counter. We also have a wide range of sale titles listed online.
Publications from Canterbury Christ Church University academic staff are listed on our website and can be found in stock in the Bookshop. Click on the jacket images on this page for more information. From Irish History to African Theatre, there is a wide range of subjects currently under research. For journal articles please search the CReaTE repository
