Christ Church is currently investing more than £3m in Music and Performing Arts. From autumn 2012 in addition to our existing facilities on the Canterbury campus, we will enjoy a superbly refurbished concert venue, the St Gregory’s Centre for Music, as well as brand new practice room and seminar teaching space in the Sir Peter Maxwell Davies Building. That’s in addition to our already superbly-equipped facilities at Broadstairs and University Centre Folkestone.
At Christ Church, we want your educational experience as a student to provide you with rich and enjoyable opportunities to deepen your interests and extend your skills and knowledge. Whichever programme of study you choose will bring you into contact with our resident expert staff (including published authors, Presidents and Vice-Presidents of national bodies, professional performers, theatre practitioners and composers). You’ll also meet a wide range of industry professionals (in Commercial Music, Dance, Drama, Technical Theatre and Creative Music Technology, for instance). And of course, you’ll form lasting friendships with other like-minded students – curious to understand more about their discipline and to apply their knowledge in a creative way.
Above all, we want you to have an experience at Christ Church that not only educates you in your chosen field of study, but also through it – preparing you for the challenging world of work and giving you the vital transferable and professional skills that will enable your career to flourish into the future. To that end, our programmes are increasingly informed by the high-quality research that our staff produce and publish, reflecting their own curiosity about their subject and their desire to pass their knowledge on to future generations in a shared journey of discovery.
Why not become a part of it? Your future could start here…
