Stefania Ciocia is the Course Director for Children's Literature (Year 3) and Literary Theories and Critical Practice (Year 3), as well as Theory and the Novel (Year 1). She also teaches the MA module Classics of Modern Children's Literature. Her general area of specialism is 20th and 21st century writing in English, and her research interests include war literature, postmodernism, detective fiction, postcolonial writing and American literature.
She has published articles on Derek Walcott, Caryl Phillips and Sarah Waters. She is currently working on a monograph entitled Beyond the Crisis of the American Myth: Tim O'Brien and the Ethics of Storytelling for Liverpool University Press, and on a collection of essays on Paul Auster.
