Research
The Department has a strong research tradition in both English Literature and Applied Linguistics, and had a PhD programme in each field. The Department also has its own Centre for Research, Assessment, Development in Language Education (CRADLE) |, which runs research seminars in the field of language teaching and Applied Linguistics, and since its establishment in 2004, has hosted visiting scholars from China, Lebanon and other countries, and has established teacher development projects in Yemen, Bahrain and Jordan.
