John Long completed his early art education in Belfast before coming to London to study at the Slade School of Art in 1984 under Euan Uglow. After graduating with a Higher Diploma he became Artist in Residence at the Byam Shaw School of Art in 1990, and subsequently taught at Dun Loghaire College of Art and Design, the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, and Taichung Academy of Fine Art (Taiwan). He has been a lecturer at Christ Church since 1998.
John's inclusion in A Dictionary of Artists in Britain since 1945 and "Who's Who in Art" 30th ed (2001) are in recognition of his status as a professional artist both nationally and internationally.
