Having completed a degree in Art and English at Canterbury Christ Church University College, Jane started working in the Art Department at CCCUC in 1991 as a ceramics technician. She subsequently completed her MA in Ceramics at the college in 2001 and since then has participated in exhibitions locally, London and Malaysia. She now also teaches ceramics on the first year degree course within the department.

"In my work I try to fuse together the contours and rhythms found in the coastal landscape with the curves of the human form. Within this context I also attempt to explore the way in which outside forces such as the actions of man and the weather have an impact on the landscape which reveals both its inherent strength and latent fragility. Artists who have been interested in the fusion of landscape and the human body have been influential, and particularly Stephen de Staebler." - Jane Kullman
