Our annual Lambarde Lecture in Archaeology has in previous years featured Professor Richard Hingley, and Professor David Mattingly.
In May 2016, we hosted the Prehistoric Ceramics Research Group (PCRG) annual conference. The conference was entitled Prehistoric pottery: Time for a change? and focused on ceramic chronologies. Speakers included Professor John Collis (University of Sheffield), Dr Lisa Brown (Oxford Archaeology & University of Oxford) and Dr Neil Wilkin (British Museum).
In July 2016, Dr Andy Seaman co-organised a study day ‘Living off the Land’, which explored agriculture in Wales between c. 400 and 1600 AD. This event was a highly successful collaboration between Canterbury Christ Church University, the Early Medieval Wales Archaeology Research Group, Cardiff University, and UCL.
In September 2016, we held the annual conference of the Society of Church Archaeology on Church and Industry, featuring a major keynote by Professor Martin Biddle.
