The Lady Anne

This film project by Film, Radio and Television Studies students at Canterbury Christ Church University brings the tragic history of Anne Boleyn to life.

The students spent five days shooting ‘The Lady Anne’ within the stunning grounds of Hever Castle, making full use of its spectacular gardens with its mazes and 35 acre lake.

The film, which focuses on the last days of Anne Boleyn’s life, was part of the students’ third year work and counted towards their final degree classification.

The students researched and wrote the script themselves and the production team included:

  • Sarah Whitehouse (actress)
  • Emma Stalley Moores (producer/director)
  • Kate Hayden (production designer)
  • Hannah Shotton (cinematographer)
  • Sarah Yarwood (camera operator)
  • Luka Springham (sound recordist / sound designer)
  • Fiona Trebill (sound designer / sound recordist)
  • James Streater (editor)

Eddie Mcmillan, Senior Lecturer of Media, Art and Design at Canterbury Christ Church University, who supervised the project, said:

“I always enjoy going on location. It is always a pleasure to see students ‘in action’, bringing their vision to life and experiencing the realities of production. It is one thing to teach students how to produce a film in a classroom or studio, but quite another to actually go out into the real world and get the production made, within budget and on time.“
