Kevin Sampson is a Birkenhead-based author who started out reviewing bands for NME and The Face in the 80s. He worked at Channel Four and set up a record label with 90s indie-dance Stars The Farm before settling to writing full time. Kevin's fiction includes Awaydays, Stars Are Stars, Powder, Outlaws and The Killing Pool, and he is the editor of Hillsborough Voices, a collection of first hand accounts of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster recalled by those who were there and those closely involved in the subsequent campaigns for truth and justice. He has written various screenplays including the 2009 adaptation of his own book Awaydays.
