Thursday 25 January 2018 | 7pm-9pm |8 sessions Tutor: Victoria Field | Canterbury campus | £84 This course will look at the way contemporary writers are approaching ecological issues through poetry, memoir, fiction and the ‘new nature writing’. Each week we will read examples of writing, discuss their implications and do some of our own writing in response. Last year’s successful course included reflections on writing by James Lovelock, Robert Macfarlane, Jane Hirshfield, Kathleen Jamie, Mary Oliver, Amy Liptrot and Jan Kaplinski amongst others.
There will be an opportunity for students to recommend books and texts to share and co-create the course content. Suitable for anyone with an interest in the subject – no previous creative writing experience is necessary although experienced writers will find they will be inspired in new directions.
