Help at an Event

Helping at an event can be great fun and you often don’t need a lot of experience to get really involved. And, as each event is “one off”, this type of help doesn’t require you to make a long term commitment, or to take part more often than you would like.

Open Days - Calling recent graduates

If you graduated recently, you probably still remember what it felt like making a university application and attending Open Days.

We need former students to help staff our Open Days which are held at different times of year, but mainly in the Autumn.

Picking the right university can be a difficult choice and it can be very helpful to have people who’ve already been through that process to talk to.  Whether you are on the reception desk, with a course team, or helping with campus tours, the welcome you give and the experiences you can share could really help a prospective student in their decision-making process.

Events - General volunteers

Whether you want to build experience in running events, or simply like being involved in the buzz of University life, we always need extra hands to help at student and alumni events, so do apply if you are interested.

Get involved

If you are interested in any of the opportunities please complete the application form.

Reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

" The University has been such a huge part of my life, as a student, former SU President and now member of staff. For me, volunteering to help as an alumnus just seemed like a natural step. It was great to be part of a discussion group of alumni who had qualified over a period of nearly 50 years and I really welcomed the opportunity of influencing the development of the alumni magazine
