Additional Opportunities

At particular times, we have need for help in very specific areas. If you think you can assist with any of the below, please email alumni@canterbury.ac.uk or telephone 01227 782995. We would love to hear from you.

Meet Prospective Students

NOW RECRUITING recently graduated alumni from all subjects to attend Open Days here at the University in a variety of roles: helping on the Welcome Desk, signposting visitors around campus and sitting and talking with prospective students about how studying at CCCU helped you. Why not team up with one of two of your University friends and make a day of it working together back on campus? Forthcoming dates include 9th October and 6th November 2016.

Make a Difference at Your School

Our Outreach Team regularly make visits to schools in the Kent and Medway region, encouraging pupils to consider going to University. If you grew up in Kent and would like to revisit your old school with the Outreach Team during the academic year 2016/17 to talk to pupils about your experience of studying at Christ Church, we would love to hear from you.

Provide on the Job Experience

The University’s School of Childhood and Education Sciences provides a range of programmes (not leading to qualified teacher status) for students wishing to work within an education setting. A vital part of the learning process is to gain live work experience, ideally where groups of children are gathered within the community, such as nurseries, schools, playgroups, foster care settings, community centres, prisons, or centres for children with special educational needs. The nature and duration of the experience offered can be subject to negotiation. If you work, or have contacts within an environment that may be able to offer some type of work experience to our students, we would love to hear from you.

"I have found volunteering a great opportunity to help students through sharing my personal experiences and offering any advice. The enthusiastic feedback and positive comments from staff and students alike has made the experience even more worthwhile and rewarding"

Freddie Ryder, PGCE, 2009
