University unveils plans for Kent’s first purpose built music centre

Canterbury Christ Church University unveiled its plans to develop Kent's first purpose-built music centre at a special evening reception on Tuesday 11th March.The £8 million initiative to transform the University’s music facilities reflects a county-wide need – there is currently no purpose-built space for music anywhere in Kent.

The University has secured a substantial proportion of the funds to build the centre and is now launching an appeal for further external funding. Read more

Pupils given access to career training

A scheme called ‘Gateways to the Professions’ has been launched by the University to encourage Kent school children to consider a career in education, policing or the health care sector.

The scheme also allows pupils to gain an insight into the professions and work at university level alongside their sixth form studies.  Read more

New honorary fellowships conferred

Canterbury Christ Church University officially welcomed an eminent scientist and the Bishop for the Church of South India into its honorary fellowship at two graduation ceremonies at Canterbury Cathedral on Friday 1st February.

The University conferred honorary fellowships upon Professor John Todd and The Right Reverend Dr John Gladstone.Read more
