This web site will give you an overview of the Governing Body's role and responsibilities together with details of the Governors themselves. The Governing Body - whose members are part-time and unpaid - has ultimate responsibility for the affairs of the University including:

The 25 members of the Governing Body meet in formal session at least 4 times each year; their work is supported by a range of Committees and Sub-Committees. Operating under Instruments and Articles of University Government approved by the Privy Council their main responsibility is given as "to determine the educational character and mission of the University, and overall review of University activities".
