Promoting Equality of Opportunity and Diversity

What does it mean?

Equality Impact Assessment is a route to best practice to deliver more effective, appropriate and inclusive policies and practices. It's purpose is to contribute to action to eliminate any actual or potential discrimination or disadvantage that is identified and to promote equality of opportunity. This is done through a systematic and thorough analysis of proposed or current policies to establish, record and monitor whether a policy affects different groups of people in different ways and to  identify opportunities to promote equality.
