Promoting Equality of Opportunity and Diversity

The University has recently streamlined our Equality and Diversity service to create one committee which is responsible for Equality and Diversity across the University:

  • The Equality and Diversity Committee is convened by Pro-Vice Chancellor Tony Lavender. It is responsible both for deciding strategies relating to Equality and Diversity across the University and for the implementation of these strategies.  The Committee is convened by the University Solicitor's Office and any questions relating to meetings or minutes should be directed to the Committee Officer.

Previously, the responsibility for Equality and Diversity was split between a Governor-led Committee, and a Pro-Vice Chancellor-led Delivery Group, with the former deciding policy and the latter looking at implementation. There are, therefore, minutes for two different groups available online for years preceding 2013-14.
