Learning and development
We believe in the power of higher education to transform individuals, communities, society and the economy.
Equally this transformative power through learning also applies to our staff and we are committed to seeking opportunities for all employees to have access to appropriate development activities.
This commitment can be seen in our achievement of the Investors in People award three times over the last 12 years, and in the excellent and wide ranging provision in staff development opportunities. These are provided through our Human Resources and Organisational Development Department, Learning and Teaching Enhancement Unit, Research Office and Graduate School, as well as faculties and departments.
Qualifying staff are also able to access study at the University on favourable terms, as well as support via mentoring, coaching, job shadowing and involvement with wider University opportunities such as volunteering, research activity and more.
