Getting to the Broadstairs Campus

Cycling

There are secure, free of charge bike racks available on campus.

Getting around by bike is easy and there is bike storage on campus.  The Viking Coastal is a 32 mile route, but you can pick and choose which parts to follow. Two thirds of the route is off-road and is also signed throughout for convenience. 

Walking

Broadstairs Campus is a 30 minute walk from Broadstairs train station.

Train

There are stations in the main towns of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate. Each station is served by the same line so train travel between each station is simple and quick.  

Broadstairs is around 40 miles from the Eurostar Passenger Terminal at Ashford, and the Channel Tunnel, and near to the Dover ferry terminals to Europe.

Bus

‘The Thanet Loop’ is one of the most frequent bus services in the UK, running on average every 7 minutes. It operates 7 days a week, from early morning until late evening. This service provides excellent connections between Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate. The number 8 bus provides an excellent link to Canterbury.

Getting to the Broadstairs Campus

From London

  1. Leave M2 at junction seven and take the A299 Ramsgate (Thanet Way)
  2. Continue on the A299 Ramsgate (Thanet Way) for approximately 23 miles and then follow all signs for A256 Broadstairs
  3. Continue along the A256 Broadstairs which takes you past the Westwood Cross shopping complex.
  4. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Margate Road/A254.
  5. Continue along the road then turn left onto Northwood Road.
  6. Continue for approximately 0.6 miles and you will arrive at the Broadstairs Campus.

From Canterbury

  1. Take the A28 towards Margate
  2. At Sarre, take the A253
  3. Follow the A299 and then the A256 towards Broadstairs, via Westwood Cross area.

There is free parking available at the Campus.
