The Blackboard Academic Suite version 7.3.216.0 is the chosen virtual learning environment of the University. If you are not already using Blackboard in your teaching and would like like to do so please contact your Faculty Learning Technologist|.
Getting into Blackboard
To get into Blackboard, first open your Internet Browser, e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox. In the address bar type:
Note: There is no "www" in the address
NOTE: AOL Browsers do not display Blackboard correctly. If you do have AOL please minimise (do not close the browser) and use Internet Explorer, Safari (Mac) or Mozilla FireFox
You will now be presented with the Blackboard Login Page. Click the login button.
Please enter your username and password in the login box (which is located on the right)
Existing users - Blackboard no longer has a separate username and password. Please make sure you log in using the username and password you use to log into computers in the University.
Changing your password
If you want to change the passsword that you use to enter BlackBoard please use the appropriate option below
Using a University Computer
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL
Now choose Change Password.
Enter your password
Now enter your new password
Now confirm it and press OK
You have now changed your password to access Blackboard and your computing account.
Outside University
Please contact the i-zone on 01227 782222 or email them on i-zone@canterbury.ac.uk |and they will be able to change your password for you.
Blackboard Support
Once in Blackboard use the Help tab at the top of the screen to access support on using the system or you can access the user guides and help page from here|.
If you forget your password, the i-zone can reset it.
Click the help tab in blackboard for additional help - no login required.
