CLIC-Learn - the University Virtual Learning Environment 

CLIC Learn is the chosen Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for the University. Like all other Higher Education Institutions the University are using it within an increasing number of courses/modules to support learning and teaching.

There are 2 CLIC Learn workshops of approx. 1 hour length each. Before attending the workshop staff will be required to engage with the CLIC Learn training module this offers a more blended approach with resources provided for staff to look at before they attend the workshop.

The 2 workshops are :-

  1. 'CLIC Learn Orientation'
  2. 'Supporting students learning using CLIC Learn’

CLIC Learn Orientation

Course Aim

To orient staff in the use of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) within the University. This session is aimed at staff who have used a VLE in another institution or who have never used a VLE before.


  • looking at good practice

  • aware of who does what – incl legal requirements, admin roles and responsibilities

  • You will be able to:

  • use the Notification dashboard:

  • manage course lists

  • manage widgets

  • hide/show the side menu

  • clearly navigate CLIC Learn sites

  • Add Content – items, links, folders, mashup

  • Add Announcements

  • Add users
