Support

We recognise how important it is to have a support network ready to offer essential advice and information.

Our dedicated staff in Student Support and Guidance are on hand to offer our students help. Whether it's a question about money or accessing health services, our team of professionals are there to make your life at university as care-free as possible.

Financial advice

Budgeting money at university can be tough. Staff in our Student Support and Guidance team offer information to both current and prospective students on financial support available, from grants to scholarships and bursaries. They also manage the Access to Learning Fund for registered students who experience financial difficulties. For more detailed information about this, please visit our Fees and Finance pages or contact our Student Support and Guidance team on 01227 782222.

Health and wellbeing

Our Student Health Service| can provide you with information and advice on how to access medical services outside the university, and you can even register with a local doctor directly through our web pages, or through our links to NHS Choices.

We also offer students a free, confidential counselling service, staffed by professional and experienced counsellors, and specialist advice to students with mental health issues or disabilities| (including dyslexia).

Childcare

Our Student Financial Support| team will be able to advise you on the availability of university financial assistance for childcare.

Further childcare information can be found at:

Students at Canterbury are eligible to apply for childcare spaces at Canterbury Day Nursery|, a centre closely associated with Canterbury Christ Church University. However, limited spaces are available.

Employability and Careers

We also have experienced staff that can help you with essential skills development to enhance your employability. This service is open to all students, and our graduates, with helpful information on job hunting, training resources and employment options. The university's JobShop| will also help you find work whilst you're at university, with many local employers on the lookout for full and part time staff.
