It has been a great experience staying in the student accommodation. Students can have a peace of mind, knowing that their safety and needs are taken care of by the accommodation office."

How to apply

Undergraduates and Foundation Students

As soon as you have an Unconditional Firm (UF) or Conditional Firm (CF) offer to study at Canterbury Christ Church University you are eligible to apply for accommodation online. The Accommodation Application line is opened in April, as this is allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please read the Allocation Policy| before applying.

You should consider carefully your first, second and third choices as, due to the high demand for some accommodation, you may not be offered your first choice.

Postgraduates

International postgraduate students can apply for university accommodation for their first year of study.

British and EU postgraduate students are advised to find accommodation through the private sector.

The application process

Once you have decided on your preferred accommodation, apply online (see below for details). Allocation of places begins towards the end of July for the following September. Once you have completed the online application, you will receive email confirmation. The email will be sent to the address you provide in your application, so if you do not receive this you should contact us without delay.

The deadline for applying online for university accommodation is 31 July 2012. If we receive your application after this date we cannot guarantee we'll be able to offer you accommodation, even if you meet our terms and conditions of application.

If we are unable to offer you university accommodation, we will assist you in finding the best accommodation available at your chosen campus. For example, Canterbury has a large and well-managed private sector and the Accommodation Team organises a number of "Find a Room" days towards the end of August, to help students meet landlords and find properties.

Allocation of rooms

We will allocate rooms from the end of July in the same order we received the applications. We will not send out offers of accommodation until you are given an Unconditional Firm. This offer of accommodation will be sent out via email, like all other communication with you during the application process.
