Our University's Education research has an international reputation, rated "world class" in the last Research Exercise Assessment 2008.
Research activity takes place across all the departments within the Faculty of Education, from early childhood through to lifelong and adult learning.
There is a vibrant and active research community with a range of seminars, writing and reading workshops, faculty research days and conferences with regional, national and international dimensions. Research is organised through a number of cross-faculty research themes:
Each theme has one or more co-ordinators who work with the Educational Research Directorate. Theme and departmental research co-ordinators, and members of the Educational Research Directorate meet every term in the Education Research Committee to discuss research issues, research projects and publications.
Research students, full and part-time, are also a vital part of our community and play an active role in enhancing our research and scholarship.
