Aimhigher Kent and Medway Activities and the 'Learner Voice'
This research, directed by Ruth Rogers and coordinated by Manuela Thomae, was funded by Aimhigher Kent and Medway. It explored student views on the value and impact of Aimhigher activities in the Further Education setting. In particular, the research set out to explore whether Aimhigher had reduced student barriers to participation in Higher Education or changed their knowledge or attitudes towards Higher Education.
The research involved interviews and focus groups with 50 students from five colleges across eight different college sites in Kent and Medway.
The project showed that students felt the support they had received from their Aimhigher Coordinators was beneficial. As were university open days and visits by Aimhigher Student Ambassadors.
