The event, entitled The Flying Start Rally, will take place at Canterbury College from 12.30pm and has been organised by Canterbury Christ Church University, University of Kent, and Canterbury City Council on behalf of the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurs (NCGE).

The event is expected to attract up to 150 student and graduate entrepreneurs from Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Kent, the University of the Creative Arts and Canterbury College.

Speaking before the event, Apprentice star, Raef Bjayou, said: “I am delighted to take part in this very worthwhile event which I hope will give student and graduate entrepreneurs a taste of the entrepreneurial lifestyle. I believe that the very best entrepreneurs dare to innovate, to inspire and to break through. The one key quality that all successful entrepreneurs possess is sheer determination, the ability to see each business venture successfully through.  I shall look forward to sharing best practice with Kent’s students, graduates and business owners and provide them with the help and support they need to set them on the road to success.”

In addition to Raef’s presentation, participants will also have the opportunity to engage with entrepreneurs and put questions to legal, financial and marketing experts. There will also be workshop sessions covering topics ranging from generating ideas to applying for funding, to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to take the next step in realising their business dreams.

Canterbury Rally participants will be encouraged to pledge to take the next steps to make their entrepreneurial future a reality. They will become part of the Flying Start online community and support system which will put them in touch with the right people in their university and local area for start-up business information.
