Sustainability - working hard to make a difference

We are firmly rooted in Kent and Medway’s communities – from Canterbury to Broadstairs, Medway, Tunbridge Wells, and Folkestone – and we therefore recognise our significant role in protecting and enhancing our wider environment.

Making our approach count

Sustainability is core to our values and is one of the five key themes for our 2011-15 Strategic Plan|.

We’ve already made great strides in a number of areas such as reducing our carbon footprint. For example, we’ve invested in sustainable materials and buildings including Augustine House and the new St George’s Student Centre in Canterbury. In fact, the Carbon Trust Standard in 2010 recognised how determined we are to reduce our carbon footprint.
