Getting to the Canterbury Campus by bike or foot

Cycling

There are secure, free of charge bike racks available on campus.

Walking

North Holmes Campus is a 10 minute walk from Canterbury East train station.


Getting to Hall Place

Cycling

There are secure, free of charge bike racks available on campus.

Walking

Hall Place is easy to reach by car or bus and is approximately 45 minutes walk from the train stations. However it is advisable to use public transport as Hall Place is on a major road and is difficult to access by foot.


Getting to Augustine House

Cycling

Secure, free of charge bike racks available, as well as shower facilities in Augustine House.

Walking

Augustine House is a 5 minute walk from Canterbury East Station and next to Canterbury High Street.

Getting to the Canterbury Campus by public transport

Train

Both Canterbury West and East train stations are minutes away either on foot or by taxi.

Bus

Park and Ride is available in Canterbury with a bus stop just outside the main campus entrance.

Coach

Coaches are available to Canterbury from as far as Gatwick Airport.

Courtesy shuttle service

Canterbury Christ Church University operates a shuttle bus service for staff and students wishing to travel between sites in Canterbury and Harbledown.


Getting to Hall Place

Train

Both Canterbury East and West train stations are minutes away from Hall Place by taxi.

Bus

Hall Place is a 30 minute bus ride from North Holmes Road or a 15 minute bus journey from Canterbury East train station.


Getting to Augustine House

Train

Canterbury East train station is a short 5 minute walk from Augustine House.

Bus

Canterbury is well served by bus routes, with a Park and Ride option. There is a stop just outside Augustine House.

Getting to the Canterbury Campus by car

From London (M2/A2):

  1. Leave the A2 at the first Canterbury exit
  2. Go straight ahead at the roundabout along the dual carriageway
  3. At the next roundabout follow the ring-road around to the right
  4. Go straight on to the ring-road anti-clockwise, keeping to the outside lane; prepare to turn right at the third roundabout into New Dover Road
  5. At the traffic lights take the left filter into Lower Chantry Lane taking the second exit at the next roundabout into Longport. The University visitors’ entrance is situated on the left in the Old Sessions House.

There is limited parking| available onsite.


Getting to Hall Place

From Canterbury:

Hall Place is situated on the A2050, the main road out of Canterbury towards the A2 London bound.

From London:

  1. Take the M2 coast bound
  2. At junction seven take the A2 following signs for Canterbury and Dover
  3. Take the fourth exit off the A2 (signposted for Canterbury). Hall Place is approximately one mile on the left.

Getting to Augustine House

From London:

  1. Take the M2 coast bound
  2. At junction seven take the A2 following signs for Canterbury and Dover
  3. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A2 (signposted for Canterbury)
  4. Leave the A2 at the first exit signposted Canterbury
  5. At London Road roundabout take the second exit onto the A2050 signposted Margate, Ashford
  6. At St Peters roundabout take the third exit onto the A290
  7. At Wincheap Roundabout take the second exit onto the A28
  8. At Riding Gate Roundabout take the fourth exit (this will take you back on yourself) and Augustine House is on your left.
